Collaring through life!

Uncategorized

Hi All,

How have you been?

This week I stepped out to bring you this post.

Here’s my look this time:

This time i chose to twist up a casual look. A white collared shirt and dark blue sweater with my favorite black jeans. I think this pattern are best suited for the current climate as it is not too hot in Mumbai these days!

You can wear this combination with jeans and it can be worn almost everywhere.

The important thing when wearing a dress shirt under is make sure the shirt and sweater go well together, and that the color coordination works.

Wearing a sweater with a shirt is a perfect way to add some style to your look on a cold day or on a cool summer evening.

This is the sort of look I’d recommend to anyone – if you’re off to office, college, a long day with back to back meetings and so on.

I paired my outfit with white shoes – my best investment so far. You see, a nice pair of shoes (be it shoes, pumps, peep toes, belles, stilletoes. etc.) can go with anything and everything.

Didn’t wanna take off the attention from my top so kept it simple with my makeup and hairstyle.

I kept my makeup simple – just a dark blue eyeliner and a nude colored gloss. Overpowering my outfit with my makeup just didn’t feel like the right option this time.

I’d suggest to keep your makeup as minimum as possible; let your skin breathe the beautiful fresh air. Also, you don’t want your makeup to drain, which often happens in rains!

I know this season is especially nerve-wrecking when it comes to fashion- you tend to abandon your favourite clothes temporarily to avoid them being ruined in the rains. But don’t you worry, I’ve got a solution for your every problem. In my upcoming posts, I’ll show you how to jazz-up even the most basic outfits; be dazzling even when the rains don’t let you and make the most of the monsoon fashion 🙂

And as I always say your smile is your best and most beautiful jewelry, and your confidence is the coolest crown that you can don. 🙂

Il be back with another post soon! Till then keep smiling 😊

Getting RED-for summer!

Uncategorized

Hi All!

Hope your summer’s going as fabulous as ever. Hope your mornings are fresh and nights, cool and calm.

This summer, paired up with the humidity always makes it difficult for us to choose what to wear and what not to wear, isn’t it?

Anyway, let’s cut to the chase and start bedazzling.
This time I’m back with a vibrant, shiny, super-bright color that is RED.

RED is a color that not only lights up your persona, but also adds a subtle blush to your face, making you look fresh even on the most humid & hottest summer day.

Plain T-shirts, tee’s, is a wardrobe must for every girl – be it a Tomboy or Chic. I personally find it best to wear leggings over a jeans during any season. :p

Make sure that if you’re going with the crystal leggings then you chuck out the idea of any ultra-glam shoes. You don’t wanna overpower ever element against each other, but you have to balance each one out.

Let your hair loose, party all day, or all night- but remember you need to look fabulous for yourself rather than others. And that cute little smile you have, cranks your style quotient up a notch .

Also, add on your bellies or any heels which gives a matching look to your outfit.

I kept it really simple but still dazzled it up a bit by just applying a bold blue eyeliner and a glossy lipstick.

This look sums up what all us girls want to try- elegance, chic, bold and trendy. A look that would work best for your weekend dinner dates or parties with your friends.

The one thing I have personally observed, tried and tested is that a perfect outfit can be made even better if you add your personal style and a smile.

Grey’s (and Black’s) Anatomy

Uncategorized

Hi All,

Hope you guys are doing well. I’m back with a new  dazzling post to show  how to jazz up the simplest of combinations and get a gorgeous look.

dsc07703

This time i chose to twist up my look by wearing a casual top with a pair of leggings. A plain grey full sleeves bodycon woolen t-shirt with a criss-cross bodice at the neckline, that totally changes the look of the top. Full sleeves are a trend that’s going on peak day by day, and I am completely obsessed with it.

Grey is the new black, it depends on the way we carry and pair it with a pant, leggings, accessories in different way. I personally find it  best to wear leggings over a jeans – extra comfy and cosy.

dsc07738

I kept it really simple but still dazzled it up a bit by just applying a bold black eyeliner and a  bolder red lipstick on my lips. As I always say, a red lipstick never goes out of fashion. It just brings a glow on your face and accentuates your smile too. I’ve completed this ensemble with simple black wedges and crochet sling bag.

Festive Vibes!

Uncategorized

Hello World!

How have you been? Enjoying the festive season all over ? Hope the festive season has brought joy to all of your lives. So its that time of the year where you search, buy, traditional wear for these festivities. Well yes, my post this time is on complete traditional wear, to get in the festive mood.

So here is my look.

dsc07781

Countless events have changed our history, empires have fallen and risen, but the memory of Anarkali continues to live on through the majestic dress – known as ANARKALI SUIT. I usually don’t prefer buying heavily decked dresses, but I couldn’t stop myself for buying this one. The color, the pattern, the design – I was in love with  it all over.

Most desi festivals, weddings are infamous for the countless number of flashy bright colors. Anarkali suit gives a classic look and is different from the other Indian traditional dresses. It has never been out-dated,as there are many varieties, patterns upcoming in the market. Buying a party wear Anarkali or a simple one, I would suggest every girl out there to try it out  during Diwali season –  as it is never goes out of style.

dsc07789

I chose to wear chunky traditional earring, and added good clutch ,heels to  complete your look. And kept it simple by adding my favorite black clutch with it and studded silver sandles.

dsc07793dsc07794

For my make-up, I chose a bright pink  lip cream with a little dab of blush on my cheeks, no Kajal/Kohl, just a nice stroke of black eyeliner.  I had to tone down my makeup, making it more subtle, to balance it out with the outfit.

dsc07798

Hope this post inspires you to pick out a great traditional outfit for Diwali.

Ill be back with next post very soon. Till then KEEP SMILING 🙂

Feeling Blue :)

Wedding Diaries

Hola Amigos!

How have you been? Hope the festive season has brought brightness to all of your lives. Festivals brings a great deal of opportunities to wear new traditional clothes in India specifically.  So I thought- what better time than now to start off with my bedazzling desi collection?

IMG_2016-08-26_14-17-03_1472201817615.png

A bright blue long kurti paired with chiffon pallazo (which gives a lehenga look) and a blue net dupatta /stole.

I am not the one who typically goes with poppy colors, but festivities made me more confident to try it on. And guess what? poppy colors do work. It gives a bright look.

The trend of long kurti and pallazo is increasing day by day in India. It gives an ethnic look, its comfortable, trendy, glamorous, all at once.

IMG_2016-08-26_14-17-03_1472201792484.png

Most desi wears are infamous for countless number of jewelry to give more of traditional look. So keeping in mind, I decided to wear a diamond earring and a thin necklace with a small diamond pendant. But let me tel you,we just need a good makeup, good hairstyle, carry your outfit with confident and add on a bright smile on your face.

IMG_3002

Also, add on your bellies or any heels which gives a matching look to your outfit. I’ve just added simple blue clutch to maintain the subtlety and let my dress be the center of attraction.

IMG_2998

So all in all, I am pretty much in love with this outfit and i hope you fall in love with this style too. Keep incorporating yourself, your smile and your soul into your style, and no one will ever disagree over the fact that you’re drop-dead gorgeous and beautiful.

I’ll be back soon with another post. Till then, keep spreading the festive joy with that beautiful smile of yours!

THE CHOKER DIARY

Monsoon Diaries, Uncategorized

Hi All,

I’m back after a long time with another dazzling post. Apologies for not being active for a few months – blame it on my hectic college schedule and the rains in Mumbai. So as everything was stable this weekend, I stepped  out to bring you this post.

Here’s my look this time:

bd

The grunge chic

This time i chose to twist up a casual look. A plain grey Tee with my favorite leggings. Pastel colors are best suited for the current climate. Plain T-shirts is a wardrobe must for every girl – be it a Tomboy or Chic. I personally find it  best to wear leggings over a jeans during rainy season.

Who says Grey is not a bright color?  Well, I guess it depends on the way we carry and style it with accessories in different way. Just wear it with a contrasting color and it will look fabulous. This look sums up what all girls want to try – chic, bold, trendy. All your wardrobe needs this season is innovation to the most basic outfits. I paired my outfit with an uber-casual black sling bag.

IMG_2987

Pendant adorned choker – I love ❤

I’m basically in love with jeweled choker my sister gifted me. Was just waiting for a reason to wear it. By nature, a choker has a tough streak, lending an edge to any look.  Always remember anything will look good as long as you’re wearing a little bit of yourself in that outfit.

As I always say a red lipstick never goes out of fashion. It just brings a glow on your face and of course your smile too. As I prefer  liner for my eyes, a bold black liner on my upper lid seemed like the perfect match for this outfit. People do prefer applying eye makeup with eye-shadow, kohl and all the works. But it was just my preference – keeping it simple for me is always a big yes with my eyeliner.

IMG_2970

Such looks are best suited for when you want to try grunge, but worry about going too far – this can go anywhere with an edge – for shopping, for friends day out, for brunch, et al. Let your hair loose, but remember to be the dazzling you, that you always are. Your smile is your best and most beautiful jewelry , and your confidence is the coolest thing you can carry.

I’ll be back with another post soon. Let me know what you think of this look in the comments section.

Till then, keep smiling and be dazzling 🙂

The Monochrome Stripe

Winter Love

Hola Amigos!

I’m back with another post on my love for monochrome. The combination of black and white always draws my attention. And why wouldn’t it? The way black & white look mesmerizing and graceful is truly beyond explanation. So here goes my look:

7

The black & white love

I stumbled upon this gorgeous striped turtleneck tunic at Zara and couldn’t resist grabbing on to it, taking it to the cash counter and making it mine forever <3. Paired it with my plain black leggings and voila! – I was good to go.

2

All smiles 🙂

The key here was to make this outfit look as glamorous as possible without altering the essence of monochrome. And that’s why I went ahead with adding my black shades and my dazzling crystal black bellies with this ensemble.

6

My dazzling crystal bellies

8

Sunny glow ❤

With just a hint of oomphy red lipstick and a bright red nail color, I managed to make this look more winter-date friendly.

You can also pair such monochrome tops/tunics with your favorite pair of studded leggings – a trend that’s catching on faster than ever are ankle-length leggings with studs/crystals across each sides. Make sure that if you’re going with the crystal leggings then you chuck out the idea of any ultra-glam shoes. You don’t wanna overpower ever element against each other, but you have to balance each one out. If there’s no color in your outfit, add color to your makeup. That’s what I did. 🙂

5

My love for red lipstick never fades 🙂

My hairstyle was inspired by the latest Buzzfeed’s Top Knot video, which showcased hairstyles for medium length hair. I’d recommend subscribing to Top Knot or Glamrs to learn new looks, makeup trends, hairstyles and much more.

This look was even more enhanced due to the amazing breezy winters that Mumbai is blessed with this year. The sun shines bright, but the winds keep it cool, making me fall in love with this city all over again.

I’ll be back with another post soon! 🙂 Till then keep smiling and stay beautiful!

XOXO

ALL THAT SHINES IS WHITE

Winter Love

Hi All,

I’m back with the winter outfit I’m dying for you guys to see. This time I got the opportunity to showcase my most favorite combinations of all – white and grey. Check out the look:

IMG_2497

White on white (and grey)

With the breezy winters here, I got this gorgeous white knitted tunic as a gift from someone special :). Paired up with a great pair of grey leggings, my outfit just became perfect. This is the sort of look I’d recommend to anyone – if you’re off to office, wear a white tunic, with a pair of trousers or treggings of your choice and complete the look with a top bun; if you’re off to hang out with friends, wear the same and let your hair down and add a bold accessory – and you’re set.

IMG_2515

I’ve added a greyish-beige Baggit handbag to add more dazzle to this ensemble. Didn’t wanna take off the attention from my top so kept it simple with my formal black pumps – my best investment so far. You see, a nice pair of black shoes (be it pumps, peep toes, belles, stilletoes. etc.) can go with anything and everything – it has the power to undertone your look if you’ve gone overboard, but it also has the power to be the star of your ensemble.

IMG_2490

My investments – the handbag and the black shoes

For accessories, I just couldn’t resist using my chunky turquoise necklace – a great souvenir from my recent Goa trip. I also added my rose gold and steel omega watch. For all those who don’t play a lot with accessories – I’d recommend investing in a watch with a big dial. Contrary to popular belief, a big dial suits every woman (she just needs to search for it).

IMG_2471

Remembering Goa ❤

IMG_2506

My rose gold Omega

I kept my makeup simple – just a black eyeliner and a light pink colored tinted lip balm. Overpowering my outfit with my makeup just didn’t feel like the right option this time.

IMG_2469

Keeping it simple 🙂

In the end, I’d say enjoy these cool, breezy winters while they last – this is the only season you can play with knitted tops, jackets and accessories that you love to wear but can’t find a day when the climate’s not too hot or humid. Let me know what’s your winter style in the comments section. Would love to hear your thoughts and converse about your style 🙂

I’ll be back with another post soon. Till then keep smiling and stay beautiful! 🙂

XOXO

The Black and Red Affection

Wedding Diaries

Hi All!

Winter has officially started in India. This means, the season all fashion freaks wait for is here – ‘Tis the wedding season! I have a lot of new and innovative traditional, chic and classy combinations of outfits lined up for you this season. Can’t wait to show you all my wedding looks! Without further ado, here’s the outfit I chose this time:

IMG_2377

In love with myself ❤

I figured it’s best I start off with my favourite color – black. This is an outfit I personally designed and styled, with the help of a very fine craftsman – my tailor, Sharif (he deserves the acknowledgement here because this awesome, lovely, amazing outfit ❤ couldn’t have been possible without him!). I am completely in love with this dress – a cotton-silk red long, flared skirt, with a black chiffon crop top.

So how did I design it from scratch? I just went with my instinct. This season, I really didn’t want to be a part of the crowd, I wanted to stand out of it. The best option was to make a bold statement with bright colors and a modern take on the traditionally worn outfits at weddings.

IMG_2399

My entire ensemble

Many people refrain from doing something non-conventional with their outfits, especially for weddings. But trust me, if you have an unconventional idea for an outfit and you think you can pull it off, just give it one try – it will definitely work. Just make sure you’re balancing that outfit well. For example, in my case, since I wore a red skirt and a jazzy top, I toned it down with my shoes and clutch.

IMG_2368

A solid black clutch with just a little bit of dazzle 😉

IMG_2436

My black peep-toes 😀

I kept the earrings extra traditional – I personally think these earrings make a difference to the entire outfit, making it look more wedding-friendly.

IMG_2395

Keeping it traditional with the back and gold earrings 🙂

For my make-up, I chose a bright pink shimmer lipstick with a little dab of blush on my cheeks, no Kajal/Kohl, just a nice stroke of black eyeliner. Again, I had to tone down my makeup, making it more subtle, to balance it out with the outfit.

IMG_2378

Blushy blush 🙂

So all in all, I am pretty much in love with this dress (I know I’ve said it before, but I will keep saying it again and again ❤ )and I hope you fall in love with this style too. I’d say you should give such an outfit a try. It’s very simple – go to a cut-piece store and select the materials you like for the top and the bottom. You can also add in more dazzle to such outfits with accessories such as chokers and long necklaces, or with some more intricate handicraft on the skirt, at the bottom end of the flare. So go ahead girls – try your own style and show me, either via a DM on Facebook or just post it on our page here.

Till then, stay happy, keep smiling and be beautiful (you know you already are 🙂 )

XOXO

The Rosy Fondness

Chic Traditional

Hi All!

Hope the festive season has brought joy to all of your lives. The latter half of the year (especially in India) brings a great deal of holidays and festivities along with it- which means that we get to dress up, deck up and look all shiny and blingy 😉

Anyway, without further ado, let me start off with my look. As most of you know, we celebrated Bakr-Eid (also known as Eid al-Adha) last week. So I decided to go for a more chic-Muslim look this time for my post. Here it is:

IMG_2262

Rosy smiles 🙂

A bright rose-pink long kurti, paired up with white ankle-length cotton palazzo pants (with some Chikankari work on them) and a white dupatta/stole.

I am not the one who typically goes for a color as poppy as this pink, but the festivities made me more confident to try it on. And guess what? Bright and poppy colors do work! Especially when you pair them up with neutral shades.

The trend of long kurtis and palazzos is catching on in India, and now I know why! Everything about this kind of outfit is great- it’s comfortable, ethnic, trendy, subtle and glamorous, all at once.

IMG_2271

Elegance can never go out of style ❤

Since it was Eid, I decided to go with a bare minimum makeup look. Just some light pink lipstick, a small stroke of eyeliner, a pair of jhumkas for my ears and a thin necklace with a small pendant did the trick.

IMG_2266

Flaunting my Jhumkas

Also, to add a little bit of my ‘dazzle’, I wore these Indian version elegant crystal-studded Cinderella heels 😉

IMG_2272

Feeling Cinderelly 😉

This look can be apt for your festivities and also for a regular date. If you think it is still too subtle for festivals, add in a couple of your favorite crystal bangles, a shimmery stole or scarf and a chic clutch to amp up the glamor.

This look can be suitable for women across ages, complexions and body types. Just add in an accessory or an item that you love, your beautiful smile, and your exuberant confidence- and you’re good to go. 🙂

IMG_2277

I’ll be back with another post soon. Till then, remember that you’re naturally beautiful when you are yourself. So keep incorporating yourself, your smile and your soul into your style, and no one will ever disagree over the fact that you’re drop-dead gorgeous and beautiful.

À bientôt 🙂

XOXO
